After much consideration, EPIC has decided to hold off on offering ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, and will return focus to our Eugene Neurofeedback Services, as well as Psychedelic Preparation and Integration Counseling (w/o medicine at this time). Our delay of our ketamine services is due to unforeseen liability issues related to coordinating our services with that of the medical providers joining our EPIC's ketamine prescriber network. Legal consultation pending. For now, EPIC Healing Eugene will focus on preparing our offerings of Psilocybin Therapy for Spring/Summer 2023 services. EPIC certainly apologizes for those who have been waiting for previously advertised ketamine services. We are disappointed as well. Though, for everyone's safety & potential liability concerns, we need time to address all issues with due diligence. Thank You for your past and future interest in EPIC Healing Eugene. EPIC's Healing Team continues our commitment in providing healing and transformational services to those who come to us.
How Many Ketamine SEssions Will I NEED?
A common question I get asked is how many sessions will I need? Ketamine treatment is an individual process, however treatment recommendations often encourage clients to come in for at least six medicine sessions, then to continue with some sort of maintenance (whether monthly). For others, just a few sessions helps to reset their brain and nervous system, giving them a fresh start and meaningful insights to apply in life. How Can I Prepare for A Healing Experience
I'm a big fan of self-healing and don't like dependency models of care. This is why integration is so important, as is having a plan for increased activity (such as walking, stretching, spending time outside, etc), engaging in self-care strategies, and starting to build a positive support system. These are just a few suggestions that will keep the momentum going and improve your chances of experiencing an enduring transformational shift. HOW Can I gET STARTED IN MY TRANSFORMATIONAL PROCESS?
Whether clients require ketamine in order to experience healing, versus other treatment modalities out there, or plant medicines, discovering self-care strategies that resonate is paramount to healing on a deeper level. Generally, ketamine is good for those who feel stuck, and who have tried a variety of approaches to feel better, including traditional antidepressants and other pharmaceuticals, and still struggle with depression, anxiety, and unresolved trauma. Certain physical conditions, including chronic pain and neurological issues can be helped by ketamine. For some ketamine acts as a life saver and promotes neurogenesis, the growth of healthier neuropathways in the brain. This action often helps those struggling with intractable depression, hopelessness, and suicidal thoughts feel better. Ketamine can boost energy, enliven hope, and lift mood, so recognizing a positive path forward feels more doable. But, then what?
Our Western medicine model often encourages us to continue to take pills, without any end date. Yes, if a person is extremely suicidal, ketamine maintenance may be powerful intervention in the short-term. Ketamine can also act as the motivating lubricant to get a person participating in their life more, for calming the default mode network so thinking outside the box and breaking rigid habits and entrenched thinking patterns and behaviors becomes easier. Once we feel motivated to make positive life changes, it becomes easier to get in touch with parts of ourselves that have been sorely neglected. Often people need to prepare themselves for a psychedelic healing experience or more intensive healing modality (such as EMDR). It's better to not rush, so you can get the most out of your investment of your time, energy, and financial resources. We do offer preparation and integration as part of our offerings. If you want to get started in your preparation, start considering what personal growth and self-soothing strategies you can access and start practicing. At EPIC, this is part of the deeper work we engage our clients in. We offer various modalities and provide self-help strategies so you can continue to strengthen those neuoropathways on your own, which is called "self-directed brain change." Please refer to my write up on the Epic Healing Eugene FAQ page about neurofeedback. When psychedelics are used mindfully with respect, they can activate an inner healing intelligence, helping us align with the healing intentions we bring to life. These intentions help us find our true selves, to discover and remember what's important to us, helping us move a little further away from entrenched personal stories of inner anguish and suffering, so we can experience life as being more expansive with possibilities. Ketamine is a dissociative, as well as a psychedelic. This dissociative quality of the medicine detaches us from our bodies, and often from the pressing concerns that have felt like a weight. From this perspective of weightlessness, this helps us reflect on our life and the roles we play in a detached manner. We often gain insights that are solution focused. Once we can start walking in the direction of health, positive action, and healthier thinking patterns, life starts to feel more meaningful. So, the journey begins with asking yourself if you are ready for a positive shift to occur, to feel differently, to feel your emotions and accept them in a new way perhaps, and to empowered by the knowledge that you are indeed a key player (the most important player, even beyond the medicine) in your own healing, aka in improving your life. It is EPIC's highest wish what those who come to us for the healing services we offer, in conjunction with the medicine, can help clients reach their highest heartfelt intentions of healing and transformation. Our team strives to help everyone get the most out of their ketamine or other psychedelic experience, and therefore, stress the importance of preparation and integration. -Cathy Rosewell Jonas, LCSW (EPIC Healing Eugene) What's New With EPIC 12/5/2022
![]() What's New with EPIC?
1. Our business, Eugene Neurofeedback, has expanded our services. We continue to work through our wait list, and have been able to transition several of our clients from regular neurofeedback services to a less frequent maintenance neurofeedback tune-up schedule, making room for more people to start services. Cathy continues to offer specialized psychedelic preparation & integrative services coupled with neurofeedback. (New discount Scholarship Program Added- See Below). 2. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is still coming. We're working on it. Current timeline is delayed from our anticipated January 2023 launch, due to efforts to grow our Ketamine Provider Network, staff training, and other logistics including a possible move to a larger space. We will hold off on our timeline predictions for now, until we have confirmed start dates from our interested ketamine prescribers. Though, best guess right now is Winter/Spring 2023. Hopefully sooner than later. Thank you all for your continued inquiries. We are happily accepting more inquiries from medical professionals to join EPIC's Ketamine Prescriber Network. 3. Psilocybin Services. Likely this will also happen in Spring 2023 (March-May), due to numerous logistical aspects being sorted out including a larger space for a Service Center (we need a larger group space), licensing process with the State of Oregon, staff training, and coordinating with others for our large services roll-out. 4. Healing Group Offerings are delayed for now, until we roll out our ketamine services. We plan to offer Ketamine (in addition to Cacao) during some of our healing group mini-retreats. We anticipate offering a variety of individual, small, and larger group experiences, including for medical professionals experiencing compassion fatigue, depression, anxiety, and burnout. Behind the Scenes: Our Healing Team is having another EPIC Visioning Get-Together on December 10th, so more updates will be coming after this. We are excited to roll out lots of great offerings in 2023, including immersive experiences with ketamine. Cathy is actively exploring Cooperative Models with others (including Subtle Winds) for providing local psilocybin services in 2023 and beyond, in hopes of creating a sustainable business model for psilocybin service center(s) for years to come. Some of our staff continue their training in Psychedelic and Ketamine Assisted Therapy. EPIC continues to explore local and national funding resources and partial scholarships for low-income individuals for future ketamine and psilocybin services. Both Eugene Neurofeedback and EPIC Healing Eugene have just added a new Scholarship discount rate for those interested in working specifically with Cathy for neurofeedback services with psychedelic preparation and integrative counseling, and/or with trauma counseling support. This special scholarship program is for clients who do not have insurance or are covered under an insurance plan that Cathy is not paneled for. Scholarship funds will pay a sliding scale scholarship rate up to $60 towards Cathy's $185 counseling session rate, bringing the cost down to $125 a session. Eugene Neurofeedback will continue to provide a discounted rate of 90/session for neurofeedback, with services being provided by one of our male or female neurofeedback clinicians. Cathy will continue to accept several insurance plans, including local Medicaid and certain Medicare plans. We're looking for additional space to offer a variety of individual and group offerings. Cathy also plans to keep her beautiful offices for neurofeedback in the Trillium Professional Building, and for some of our individualized ketamine work. Cathy continues to add more You-Tube Videos documenting her progress and other historical psychedelic events related to the Oregon 2023 Psilocybin Services roll out. You can visit Cathy's You-Tube Video page for her updates on Oregon Psilocybin Services, personal updates and educational tidbits about ketamine and other services, how neurofeedback can be helpful in the preparation and integration process, and more. Please contact Cathy if you are interested in supporting EPIC Healing Eugene's healing endeavors. Well... not a surprise and the update to this is the Shroom House got raided by the police and shut down on December 8th, 2022. https://www.wweek.com/news/courts/2022/12/08/portland-police-raid-shroom-house-overnight |
